A$AP Ferg is giving school fashion an upgrade.
The Hood Pope is teaming up with Virgin Mega to revamp Syracuse University’s school style. In a limited edition of threads deemed the “TrapLord Takeover,” A$AP Ferg is releasing a clothing line that mixes collegiate vibes and street swag that college students won’t find on campus. While sticking to SU’s signature orange and blue color scheme, the line boasts camouflage bucket hats, snapbacks, long sleeve crewnecks, shorts and jerseys all with celtic fonts stamped onto the meshed fabric to give it an edgy feel.
Instead of waiting on line to cop, fans have to download the Virgin Mega app in the iTunes store on their phones to virtually wait on line while also connecting with other users to purchase the gear. On Dec. 5th at 5 p.m, the “Traplord Takeover” begins with the release of the Trap Lord Jersey and Shorts, while the Trap Lord Snapback Hat will drop Dec. 8th at 5 p.m. The Trap Lord Long Sleeve Tee and Cropped Crewneck will release on Dec. 10th at 5 p.m and the Trap Lord Bucket Hat and Crewneck Sweatshirt will round out the releases, becoming available on Jan. 26th at 5 p.m.
The prices range from $40 to $55 with proceeds of the funds going towards a scholarship for students at each school Ferg and Virgin Mega visit. By tweeting #traplordtakeover, Ferg may take notice and come to a school near you. Take a look at the threads below.
In 1914, Salvatore Ferragamo left his home country of Italy for Boston at the age of 16 to work with one of his brothers at a local boot factory. The siblings later moved to California and opened the their own boot shop. Within five years the Ferragamo brothers became some of the most sought after footwear designers for Hollywood’s elite. Eventually that company would grow to become the internationally recognized luxury brand Salvatore Ferragamo.
In celebration of the 100 year anniversary of Salvatore’s migration to the States, Ferragamo’s Spring 2015 collection will feature several contemporary men and their stories that represent “making your own rules.” The luxury goods company tapped photographer/filmmaker Francesco Carrozzin to create the new digital project A Man’s Story to coincide with the collection.
“For a man to have a vision and the courage of his convictions is both noble and timeless, as relevant today as it was a century ago when Salvatore Ferragamo went out on a limb to launch his shoe-making business,” says Ferragamo’s Creative Director Massimiliano Giornetti in a statement. “Had he not have taken that risk, this brand that continues to grow and attract new generations may never have existed.”
Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky was one of the men selected for the short film and photography series. Actor Douglas Booth, New York Rangers legend Henrik Lundqvist, photographer Ryan McGinley, and entrepreneurs Tyrone Wood, Louis-Marie de Castelbajac, and Alexander Gilkes were also chosen for Ferragamo’s A Man’s Story.
“From A$AP Rocky to Ryan McGinley what links these young men is their single-minded approach to life. They’ve not been afraid to make their own rules, even when it’s meant potential failure. That’s what makes them so inspiring, and the stories they’ve shared with us so compelling,” added Carrozzini.

The epic 2013 Kanye West-Sway Calloway interview birthed the now classic internet memes “You ain’t got the answers Sway” and “It ain’t Ralph though.” The person Ye was referencing in the latter comment, designer Ralph Lauren, has finally spoken about the infamous shout out.
In an interview with Style.com’s editor-in-chief Dirk Standen, Lauren expressed his appreciation for Kanye turning his name into a positive adjective.
The article reads:
DS: I don’t know if you heard this, but there was a famous radio interview that Kanye West did. He was talking about this clothing line that the host of the show owned, and he said, “It ain’t Ralph, though.” The idea being, it’s not Ralph Lauren level, that Ralph is now a byword for a certain …
RL: Oh. [ laughs] So an adjective. It’s very Ralph.
DS: It ain’t Ralph level.
RL: That’s very cool. Well, that’s great. If I were to cater to Kanye, he would know that I’m catering to him. The fact that I make what I make—he gets it. He gets the quality and he respects it. And I think that’s the key, why I work all the time is to do that. That’s the fun.
Kanye and Kim recently donned the cover of Vogue magazine, which put the two back into the spotlight for the first time since the Red October release. Taking advantage of the publicity, Kim took to instagram to display Kanye's Yeezy rotation, which happens to include the exclusive Red Octobers.
Kanye's favorite Yeezy's include each of the Nike Air Yeezy II colorways, including an unreleased sample seen next to the Zen Grey Nike Air Yeezy 1.
Pharrell Williams became one of the most talked about entertainers at the Grammy awards this year. One reason was because he walked away with four trophies. The other reason was because his head-gear became the biggest internet meme of the night.
Pharrell is putting his now iconic Grammy hat up for auction on eBay. All of the proceeds from the sale of the Vivienne Westwood “Mountain” design will go to Williams’ educational non-profit From One Hand to Another.
“I’m giving up the Buffalo Hat I wore to the Grammys to help underserved kids get the educational tools they need,” said Pharrell in a statement. “Our organization, From One Hand to Another, is committed to bringing kids experiences that ignite their passions, challenge their minds and prepare them for success.”
After a starting price of $200, the current bid for the hat is now at $10,500. The auction will close on March 2nd at 5 PST.
Nike has released its Air Yeezy II sneakers, which have been nicknamed the Red Octobers. The product sells out in minutes.
Nike has released its Nike Air Yeezy IIshoes, a model of sneakers that has been delayed for some time. The shoe, which Kanye West has discussed for the past year, was released as a surprise today (February 9).
The release was announced in a Nike Twitter post. "The Nike Air Yeezy 2 is now available," Nike's verified Twitter account said. Eleven minutes after the initial announcement, Nike's account updated its followers about the shoe's availability. "The Nike Air Yeezy 2 has sold out on "http://Nike.com"
In November 2013, Kanye West spoke about frustrations with Nike regarding the shoe's availability. "They try to act like people ain't line up for the Yeezys," Kanye West said, speaking about the sneaker's first installment. "[Nike CEO] Mark Parker tried to son me. Yes. Son me because I am the sun and I will shine bright. And when I don't have as much money as a billionaire and when I don't have the factories that, that dude has over there, what I do have is my voice. Ain't no corporation that can take me away from my voice and I'm going to scream at the top of my motherfucking mountain as loud as I want. Anything I want. Whenever I want. Is that crazy? So I'm going to make the announcement on Monday with the corporation that finally let me get an opportunity to create."
Kanye West later announced that he had signed a deal with adidas and he also apologized to Nike for comments about the company.
"I really feel honored to have had the chance to blow Yeezy [sneakers] up with Nike," West said in an interview with I Am Tall Boy. "I really appreciate everything they did for me. I'm not knocking them on the way out or burning no bridges. I apologize for my frustration earlier."
